Schonach – The innovative strength of Schonach-based company Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH impressed the jury of 37 experts for the red dot award: product design 2013. Those who enthuse the specialists are able to crown their product creations with the red dot, thus firmly positioning themselves on an international level. In this year's contest, the jury had the formidable task of choosing winners from over 4,662 entries in 19 different categories. Only the best designs convinced the jury, with Wiha iTorque and Wiha BitBuddy from the MaxxTor family clinching the red dot for the excellent design concept.

Schonach – The iTorque torque screwdriver, MaxxTor bits, the BitBuddy and the MagicFlip have been distinguished with awards. Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH has received four coveted iF product design awards in 2013. With these awards, the long-established family company from the Black Forest region of Germany has asserted itself against more than 3,011 contributions from 51 countries. The awards ceremony will be held at the BMW Welt in Munich on 22 February 2013. At the ceremony, 50 iF gold awards will be presented to the 981 winners of the iF product design award. It has been common knowledge for years that Wiha tools are not only highly functional, but also have an outstanding design. Thus it was no wonder that Wiha can look forward to receiving several iF product design awards.

Schonach – The iTorque torque screwdriver from Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH has been presented with the Focus Open Award 2012 in silver. The Focus Open is the International Design Award in Baden-Württemberg. 58 products, including Wiha, were selected for outstanding design achievements. Intelligent, innovative, individual – the new iTorque torque screwdriver was awarded the "Focus in Silver" award in the Industry category. It has been common knowledge for years that Wiha tools are not only highly functional, but also have an outstanding design. So it's no surprise that Wiha has been distinguished with another award.

Optimised work processes, internal restructuring and innovative new products mean that Wiha are again able to look with a more relaxed view towards the future. The mood barometer points to an upturn for the Schonach tool forge, and short-time work and declines in revenue are no longer an issue.

Schonach – the ErgoStar from Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH has just been distinguished with the "red dot product design award" in one of the most renowned design competitions worldwide. The highly diverse L-key holder was able to convince the high calibre jury of experts with its outstanding design and high quality, and asserted itself successfully in the face of 4,252 products submitted by 57 countries. The celebratory award of the prizes with over 1,000 invited guests will be taking place on 5th July 2010 in the Opera House in Essen, Germany. Following that, the Wiha ErgoStar can then be admired in a four-week exhibition in the red dot design museum.

Schonach – Electricians in particular must face a wide variety of applications with at times highly difficult working conditions. VDE tools used in such environments must not only be rugged and flexible, but must also satisfy the highest demands in terms of quality and safety. A further commonly occurring problem for VDE fastening tools is limited access to low-lying fastening elements and narrow apertures. The VDE safety insulation of screwdrivers often obstructs and prevents optimal access to fastening elements. The normal solution in practice is to compromise on safety, whether this means the use of non-insulated tools or perhaps even a shortening of the blade insulation.
