The Wiha e-screwdriver speedE® has now received its third award this year and has even been honoured with a gold accolade. The German Design Council has given the German Design Award 2019 in Gold to the newly developed product from the hand tool manufacturer from the Black Forest. The jury selects a gold award winner for each category. Presented in recognition of outstanding achievements in international design, the Gold award only goes to the very best products.
The combination of functions in the new electrician's screwdriver is unique worldwide. First of all, users can fasten screws automatically and twice as fast as a normal screwdriver. The material protection function activates when 0.4 Nm is reached, which is particularly advantageous for sensitive screw fastening tasks. Users can then continue fastening by hand. The torque attachment adaptation also allows different, controlled fastening types. If you combine the speedE® with the insulation-protected slimBits, you can safely work with voltages up to 1,000 V. The gold award winner is comparable to a standard screwdriver in size, weight and format, which makes it an ideal portable companion. Its ergonomic design allows users to work with a health-conscious approach while going easy on muscles.
The German Design Award applies exceptionally strict standards when selecting its award winners: During the comprehensive nomination process, the expert German Design Council committee only invites products and communication design services to enter the competition if they clearly stand out from rivals due to their design quality. This highly renowned international design award caps a highly successful launch year for Wiha’s speedE® after it won the Focus Open Special Mention 2018 award and the Eisen Award 2018 during the Cologne International Hardware Fair in March.
