Founded in 1939 as a small family run business, Wiha now supports users with around 10,000 listed precision tools worldwide and has positioned itself as a driver of innovation in the market.
In doing so, Wiha operates on the close cooperation with its own production and distribution companies and partners in the important economic zones of Europe, the USA and Asia.
Wiha has always pursued a high-performance, sustainable path for growth; concentrating resources on product and market segments which offer sufficient potential for constant growth. This approach paired with the Black Forest passion for ideas, complexity and precision, has been the driver for past and future growth steps.
This is how it all began...
‘Quality work needs quality tools’... it is easy to imagine how a piece of wisdom like this may have prompted Willi Hahn to found his company 80 years ago. His decision bore fruit and has resulted in a company history that spans 80 years. From a small family business for screws and nuts, the company has grown into a leading global manufacturer of professional hand tool solutions with locations around the world. The long-established company, headquartered in Schonach in the Black Forest, celebrates its anniversary in 2019.

What Willi Hahn started in 1939 with the founding of the company in Wuppertal took its course after the company's headquarters were relocated to Schonach in 1943. Wilfried Hahn continued to run the company in the second generation and expanded the company's network worldwide. The expansion led to the founding of subsidiaries in the USA, Europe and Asia. Today, Wiha is still owner-managed by Wilhelm Hahn in the third generation.
