Tool backpacks for electricians and other trades
If you have your hands full, you need two free hands
As a tradesman, you are mobile. You travel many kilometres from site to site every day. And you do this with all the tools you need, which are traditionally stored in a tool case or tool box.
Of course, you want to have all the important tools with you on site. This is the only way to save yourself extra journeys and work more efficiently. However, transporting tools in this way is often not very convenient: you don't have your hands free. If you have to climb a lot of stairs or are travelling by public transport, a tool case or crate makes you immobile. Maybe that's why you drive to your jobs in a vehicle. But then the annoying search for a parking space or traffic jams get on your nerves.
To put it in a nutshell: It would be nice if you could get from A to B in a more relaxed way!
This is possible and it is therefore worth taking a critical look at your classic transport system. A tool backpack is probably the most mobile and convenient solution. You can quickly remove your tools from the top, just like from a suitcase. Good rucksacks are also just as secure. Equipped with a tool rucksack, transport is as comfortable as possible. And this is accompanied by maximum ergonomics for your back health, because your back is loaded evenly and not on one side.
To summarise briefly: Good tool backpacks are the best and most mobile solution for transporting your equipment comfortably and ergonomically from A to B with your hands free!
When is a tool rucksack particularly suitable?
- If your work locations are far apart and you have to transport the tool back and forth between these work locations.
- When a tool case with a trolley function is not practical, for example because there are a lot of stairs to climb.
- If you often travel by public transport, on foot or by bike.
- If your work involves minor service activities and extensive basic equipment without many special tools is sufficient.
You can cover long distances comfortably and with your hands free with a rucksack. Stairs or boarding a bus or train can be negotiated quickly and without restriction. The weight of your tools does not hang on one side over your shoulder or on your hand. Instead, it is optimally distributed on your back. Ergonomically designed shoulder straps and thermoformed back padding maximise carrying comfort.
This brings much more comfort. It allows you to arrive at your destination more relaxed and in the long term it also pays off in terms of health.
Tool backpacks from Wiha: comfort and mobility
Wiha offers two equipped versions. One version is available with voltage-safe tools for electrical installations. And a version for mechanics and other trades.
What you should look out for when buying a tool rucksack
1. Partitioning and fastening system in the interior
For most craftsmen, the interior of the rucksack is the most important thing. This craftsman backpack offers two separate, large main compartments as well as 3 sturdy outer compartments for sensitive items such as sunglasses or smartphones. The rucksack has a total of 77 differently designed holders for your utensils inside. You can also customise your carrying system to suit your needs. There are 30 additional flexible attachment options for this purpose. More on this in the next section (2.). The tools are securely stowed inside the attachments, do not get mixed up and can be easily and quickly removed from the top and put back again. This is ensured by a two-way zip that opens the rucksack completely. The tool rucksack therefore has no disadvantages compared to a case or box in terms of accessibility to the tools.
2. Flexible attachment options from the outside: MOLLE system
MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment. The standardised system consists of many small loops made of highly resistant material. These are attached to the outside of the rucksack at equal intervals. You can attach additional transport options to the loops by "weaving" them into the loops. You can therefore extend your Wiha tool rucksack to the maximum. According to your preferences, e.g. with additional pockets, snap hooks or tensioning straps. A big advantage is that the extensions don't just hang on the rucksack. Instead, they are optimally and firmly attached to it. You can find more information on this under the search term "MOLLE system" in numerous online shops on the Internet.
Weitere Informationen dazu finden Sie unter dem Such-Begriff "MOLLE System" in zahlreichen Onlineshops im Internet.
3. Separate office compartment with zip for a tablet or laptop
Sensitive electrical appliances and documents can be safely transported separately from tools in a separate large main compartment.
4. Robust, waterproof materials, incl. non-tipping rucksack base
The materials are extremely hard-wearing. The tool rucksacks are made of 1680D fabric on the outside. This makes them very hard-wearing and waterproof. The stable rucksack base is a waterproof hard-shell tray made of polypropylene. This prevents the rucksack from tipping over when tools are removed, even on uneven ground. Wind, weather and an adverse working environment have little effect on your transport system.
5. Equipped variants
Both versions are practically equipped. All standard tools, either for electrical installations or for other mechanical applications, are included. This means you are optimally equipped for most jobs. Nevertheless, the rucksack offers flexibility: 34 litres of volume are available. You can add to this as you wish.
If you value a highly mobile transport system, the equipped tool backpack from Wiha is the right system for you. Your hands are free at all times and you can move easily from one job site to the next. The tools in Wiha tool quality are stored neatly, safely and within easy reach in many different compartments and holders. Nevertheless, you are flexible and can supplement the free storage space with your existing utensils and other equipment.
