If you are an electrician, you certainly use pliers frequently in your daily work. This is because electricians are the professional group who work most frequently with hand tools, including pliers. They use them:
- when cutting to length
- when stripping
- when crimping
...and for many other tasks involved in cable processing. To ensure that you are always optimally equipped for all these different work steps, you either need many different, individual pliers such as side cutters, telephone pliers, wire strippers, wire cutters and crimping pliers. Alternatively, you can use multifunctional installation pliers for electrical installations. These pliers are sometimes summarised under the term "electrician's pliers". Electrician's pliers or installation pliers combine several typical functions in a single tool. They are therefore suitable for:
- cutting materials such as cables and wires
- gripping and holding materials in hard-to-reach places such as terminal blocks and installation boxes
- the durable crimping of cable connections.
Compared to several individual pliers, electrician's pliers offer the following advantages:
- You save space in the tool case.
- They are more efficient in mobile use, e.g. for various service jobs and on different construction sites. service jobs and on different construction sites. Because you can carry out several processing activities with a single tool.
- You don't have to change your tools as often during work.
- You may save on investment costs because you have to invest less money in individual tools.
Electrician's pliers for installation work in the vicinity of live parts, i.e. directly on the distribution box or installation sockets, must always be insulated. Wiha electrician's pliers are equipped with a VDE multi-component handle for this working environment, which protects you should you slip into a live circuit with your tool. If you are preparing cable processing activities away from live parts, it may also make sense to dispense with insulation. These pliers are then more compact, cheaper and you can work more sensitively.
Wiha offers two different installation pliers:
The 8in1 multifunction pliers also feature an opening spring that can be switched on and off, which is useful during repetitive work because you can use the tool more smoothly. The installation pliers are naturally equipped with an insulated multi-component handle with a hard and a soft grip zone. Safety is certified by the VDE test mark.
